1 How Bootega works
Search for boots in the size you want. Results come from Bootega’s partner retailer sites, together with private sellers who list directly on Boot Bodega, so you are not stuck messaging shops and sellers one by one.
The site is free. What it tries to cut is the familiar runaround: opening retailer after retailer, lining prices up by hand, and losing track of who is actually nearer to you.
2 Built from an archive, not a warehouse
Bootega started as @boots_in_phil, an Instagram archive of rare and forgotten football boots, colorways, and the stories behind them. That archive became Bootega: a football-boot search engine that compares retailers, tracks live prices, and brings independent sellers into one place.
The archive still sits at the core. Search is not only what is listed today. It is also what a boot is, when it dropped, and why collectors care.
3 Built in Manila for the world’s pitches
Bootega is built in the Philippines, often far from the retailers and pitches its archive covers. Distance should not keep a collector from finding a grail. Bootega closes that gap with search, not with shipping.
4 Discovery only
Bootega is a discovery tool. We search, compare, and bring listings forward. We do not process payments for boot purchases, hold inventory, or guarantee stock. You buy directly from the seller or retailer.

Seller Policy & Joint Guarantee

1. What Bootega is
Bootega is a discovery aggregator. We show listings from independent sellers and third-party retailers so buyers can compare them in one place. Bootega is not a marketplace or logistics provider; we do not hold inventory or shipments. Purchases are settled directly between the parties. Payments for Featured Listings and other paid services go through PayPal. Boot Bodega does not store your card or payment account details; PayPal handles those.
2. Seller responsibilities
Sellers listed on Bootega agree to list boots accurately (condition, size, authenticity), respond to buyer inquiries in good faith, honor the price and details shown at the time of contact unless both parties agree to a change, and not list counterfeit, stolen, or prohibited items. Keep a reachable contact channel while listings are active.
3. The Joint Guarantee
Not a financial warranty or insurance. The Joint Guarantee is a good-faith mediation commitment between Bootega, the seller, and the buyer. If a dispute arises (item not as described, non-delivery, and similar cases), Bootega will attempt good-faith mediation between both parties to reach a fair resolution. Bootega does not refund boot purchases or hold funds.
4. No escrow, no held funds
Bootega does not hold or escrow payments between buyer and seller. Money for boots changes hands directly between buyer and seller (or buyer and retailer). Because of this, Bootega cannot guarantee refunds or reverse a boot sale. Our role is limited to mediation and, where warranted, removing a seller from the platform.
5. Featured listings
Featured Listing is a paid promotional placement among qualifying matches. Promotional status does not affect confidence scoring or represent editorial endorsement. Payment never makes an irrelevant listing appear for an unrelated search. Abusing Featured Listings (for example paying to promote counterfeit, stolen, or deliberately misleading stock) is grounds for removal and ban without refund of Featured fees.
6. Listing removal
Bootega may remove a listing when it is inaccurate, incomplete, reported with credible evidence, sold, withdrawn by the seller, or otherwise inconsistent with this policy. Removed listings stop appearing in search; serious cases may also affect the seller account.
7. Suspension & bans
Temporary suspension may pause listing tools while we review a report or missing information. Permanent bans may apply for fraud, counterfeits, repeated policy violations, harassment, or attempts to bypass access controls. Banned accounts and associated devices may lose sign-in and selling privileges.
8. Fraud, counterfeits & misleading listings
Do not list counterfeit, replica-as-authentic, stolen, or prohibited goods. Do not misstate size, condition, authenticity, or price. Coordinated fraud, fake proof during application, or bait-and-switch contact details are ban-level offenses.
9. Repeated violations
Repeated warnings, removed listings, or ignored mediation requests can escalate from listing removal to temporary suspension and then permanent ban, even if each single case seems small.
10. Platform disclaimer
Bootega does not authenticate every pair. Buyers should exercise ordinary care; sellers remain responsible for the accuracy of their listings under applicable law.

1. What we collect
Search queries and result counts, a device-generated client ID, basket contents, seller applications and listings you submit, suggestion messages, reviews, newsletter emails if you subscribe, and, if you sign in with Google, your name, email, and Google account ID.
2. How we use it
To run search and price comparison, show your recent searches and basket, review seller applications, sync your basket across devices when signed in, send transactional notices when email is configured, prevent abuse, and understand overall usage (aggregate stats only, shown in our public search count).
3. Local storage & cookies
Bootega stores your basket, recent searches, consent flags, and a random client ID in your browser's local storage. Signing in stores a session token in session storage, cleared when you close the tab or sign out.
4. Third parties
We use Google OAuth for optional sign-in, Google Sheets and/or Supabase for platform data, PayPal for Featured Listings and other paid services, Resend for transactional email when configured, and, when configured, the Anthropic API for optional boot-detail enrichment. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Boot Bodega does not store your card or payment account details; PayPal handles those.
5. Data retention
Account-linked data is kept while your account is active and as needed for security, dispute mediation, and legal obligations. Search logs may be retained in aggregate or pseudonymous form. Seller application proof images are deleted automatically 90 days after approve/reject, or 180 days after submit if still pending. Application records without the image may be kept for fraud prevention. Ask support@bootbodega.com for the practice applying to your request.
6. Deletion requests
To request deletion of account-linked data (Google email, synced basket, reviews attributed to your account), email support@bootbodega.com with the subject “Data deletion,” or use Contact. Signed-in applicants can delete seller proof photos immediately with the button below. We will verify email requests and delete or anonymize data we control, except records retained for security, legal, or accounting reasons (for example payment references or ban records). Anonymous localStorage data can be cleared by clearing site data in your browser.

4. Acceptable use
Don't scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt Bootega. Don't submit false applications, list counterfeit or stolen goods, harass users, or bypass access controls. We may suspend or ban accounts and devices that violate these rules.
5. Seller & partner responsibilities
Approved sellers and partners must provide accurate information, comply with applicable law, and follow the Seller Policy. Featured Listing payment never buys relevance for unrelated queries.
6. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Bootega and its operators harmless from claims arising from your listings, content, third-party transactions, or misuse of the platform.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bootega is not liable for losses arising from third-party listings, retailer site changes, failed transactions, shipping or authenticity disputes, or reliance on search results. For platform-paid services (such as Featured Listing fees), Bootega’s aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid Bootega for that service in the prior 12 months.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections where you live provide otherwise. Courts in Metro Manila have non-exclusive venue, subject to applicable consumer venue rights.
9. Changes
These terms may change as Bootega grows. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. Material changes to paid seller or partner services will be communicated in-product or by email when we have your contact details.

Selling, featured, fees, how search works

Sign in with Google under Sell With Us, then submit your Instagram handle and one proof of a past transaction (a screenshot works). Bootega reviews applications by hand. Once approved, you can list individual boots.
Featured is a ranking boost for private-seller listings. Partner Site Boost is a site-wide ranking boost for brand or retailer partners. Both are optional visibility products. Neither guarantees a sale.
Being searchable is free for individual sellers and brand partners. Paid options are Featured Listing (per private-seller listing) and Partner Site Boost (whole partner site). Both are optional. New partners also get a free New Partner badge for 7 days from approval. Paid checkouts run on PayPal; see Terms and Privacy for payment details.
Bootega checks 16 specialist retailers at once, plus approved private sellers, and returns up to 14 matching results. Only listings that match your query qualify. Confidence (Strong / Moderate / Weak) scores how closely a retailer result matches — it is never changed by paid placement. Among qualifying results, Featured and Boosted listings appear above standard ones; within each group, stronger matches rank first, then price. Featured Listing is paid promotional placement among qualifying matches only — not an editorial endorsement.
A Seller is an individual approved to list their own boots. A Partner is a brand, retailer, or store whose catalogue shows up at scale. Both appear in search for free. Sellers can optionally Feature a listing; partners can optionally Boost their site.
Use the Report link on any result card. Bootega reviews reports and can remove a listing or contact the seller or retailer when needed.
